• OTHER SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Experience in working in complex environments and large infrastructure and/or civil works with sound knowledge in the preparation of estimates/bill of quantities, checking of drawings and design, and supervision of construction work;
• Knowledge of procurement, tendering and contracting processes and requirements, in particular using international contract forms (such as FIDIC);
• Excellent and proven experience in dealing with contractors, local partners and government agencies;
• Experience in technical design of earthquake resistance structure is an asset;
• Knowledge of the UN rules, procedures and regulations would be an asset.
• Working experience in UN or other international development organization is an asset.
• Background/familiarity with an emergency preparedness and response operations

• STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience : Minimum 10 years of professional experience at national and/or international levels in the relevant field of civil engineering, especially in the management of large-scale building/warehouse construction;
• Language: Fluency in English and Bangla, both in written and spoken .
• Computer Skills:
• Strong user of computer applications and relevant construction and civil engineering software (AutoCAD software is required).
• Hands-on experience in working with database, power points
• DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE
• Has worked effectively under supervision on a large number of varied design and construction projects and taken responsibility for work elements which have been assigned.
• Has attained advanced academic qualifications relevant to engineering.
• Has contributed to projects demonstrating knowledge of engineering specialisations in relation to fire safety, seismic blast or environmental requirements.
